Metal framing

Metal framing constructions are designed using a completely different method compared to the design of ho rolled steel. When choosing the best solution for your construction, a series of details must be considered. Structural principle

The basic principle when we design light metal framing constructions is the distribution of concentrated loads over long distribution areas or lines. A powerful tool towards minimum material waste.  Where extra load-bearing capacity is required, we will supplement with bigger cold-formed, hot laminated profiles or even concrete depending on the situation. Oblique elements act as stabilizing elements of the whole tridimensional structure. Lattices in trusses or diagonals in wall frames.

The latest technologies in the production of light steel metal frames allow complete prefabrication of the steel profiles. Self-tapping screws introduced in pre-drilled holes connect the profiles forming panels. Self-drilling screws connect the panels to form the three-dimensional shape of the construction.

It is important to understand that constructions built with steel framing require extra care during the design phase. Significant point loads or bending moments can be tackled with a combination of hot-rolled profiles if the capacity of the light gauge steel is not sufficient. Thus using hot rolled steel only in some points of the structure. Moreover, the metal framing can connect easily to the hot-rolled sections as well.
